Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Emergency Veterinarian to join a 24-hour emergency and primary care hospital in Sacramento, California. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys a hybrid schedule across emergency and general practice shifts, with access to a large, modern facility and a highly capable clinical team. This role offers a varied caseload in a 25,000 square foot hospital with a dedicated ICU, two surgical suites, two ultrasound units, spacious treatment areas, and 16 exam rooms. With daily ultrasound support, cardiology access, strong collaboration, and a schedule of three to four shifts per week, this position provides a strong setting for a clinician who values advanced medicine, teamwork, and continued professional growth. Responsibilities Managing emergency and primary care cases across a busy small animal hospital Assessing, stabilising, diagnosing, and treating urgent and routine presentations Collaborating with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to deliver high-quality care Using advanced diagnostics, ICU resources, ultrasound support, and surgical facilities Communicating clearly with clients to build trust and support informed care decisions Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an accredited university Current or eligible veterinary licensure in California Strong interest or experience in emergency and primary care medicine Commitment to high standards of medicine, ethics, and patient care Collaborative approach with excellent communication and client relationship skills Package Full-time emergency and primary care veterinarian role Hybrid schedule across emergency and primary care shifts Three to four shifts per week Annual salary from $150,000 to $250,000, based on experience and credentials Variable pay programs may be available Health, dental, and vision insurance included 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match Paid parental, vacation, and sick leave provided Continuing education allowance and paid CE days included Generous employee pet discounts and clinical development opportunities #J-18808-Ljbffr The Vet Service
