Establishes control charting of critical features and processes; monitors results and determines machine and process capabilities and performance reliability. Manages the implementation of new processes, selection of equipment to be purchased, and time estimates. Identifies optimal tooling for machining. Resolves issues with design, manufacturability, or build sequences. Ensures production-part acceptance and manufacturing readiness. Participates in adoption of new technologies and processes to achieve greater efficiency. Consults on and oversees selection and implementation of automation and robotics on the assembly line.Job Description:Work closely with the design and application group to specify gear development requirements, quality levels, performance levels and program schedulingParticipate in Design/Program Reviews and oversees the communication of project status and issues with the department manager and the team members to effectively resolve issues as they arise.Expert in evaluating and improving processes in manufacturing systems in the GDCMake recommendations to improve product quality and processing during program process development stageLead team in evaluating and recommending new equipment, processes, and softwareParticipate in product design/development review meetingsLead cost reduction, throughput improvement in gear cutting and finishing processesEngage with engineering staff to design and develop gear machining processesInvestigate scrap and rework resulting from gear machining processesInteract with production facility associates to solve process and tooling related problems and to develop new parts and processesManage engineering changes as they occur.Interact with customers and suppliers to resolve potential issuesParticipate and assist with PPAP’s and new product launches at domestic and international facilitiesInvestigate and implement cost reduction efforts through the suggestion & productivity improvement programs.Troubleshoot daily production problems through root cause analysis techniques as they occur.Maintain quality & process documentation - Control plans, PFEMAS, Picture Process Sheets, Tooling Sheets, etc.Ability to work independently while exhibiting teamwork skills with co-workers and othersAvailable to work overtime if requiredSuccessfully complete assigned tasks on time to aggressive schedulesOther duties as assignedRequired Skills and EducationA degree in Engineering or a related field or 3-5 years of related experience.Knowledge of Gear Manufacturing – Hypoid or HelicalKnowledge of CNC machining processes - milling, turning, grinding, honing, deburring.Proficiency in 3D modeling software.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.Knowledge of gear manufacturing.Excellent project management skills.About Dauch:Dauch Corporation is a premier Driveline and Metal Forming supplier serving the global automotive industry with a powertrain-agnostic product portfolio that supports electric, hybrid, and internal combustion vehicles.
