Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) to provide care in MedSurg/PCU departments. The ideal candidate must be adaptable and willing to provide support across various departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and address patients' and significant others' educational needs through appropriate teaching methods.
• Ensure patient safety by implementing preventative measures, including the proper use of side rails, restraints, and equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in operating all equipment within the PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas and follow troubleshooting procedures.
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures, adhering to proper documentation protocols.
• Utilize standard precautions at all times to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and responses during the assigned shift.
• Accurately document charge and ensure timely completion of physician orders.
• Conduct a thorough 24-hour check of orders as part of shift responsibilities.
• Provide comprehensive and accurate change of shift reports to oncoming nursing staff.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Report critical lab values to physicians promptly according to established policies.
• Manage and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Washington.
• Experience in MedSurg and PCU preferred, with the ability to flex across departments.
• Willingness to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal requests for time off.
