Post-Doc Research Associate

Primary Purpose To participate and manage the design, execution, analysis and evaluation of complex research activities, directly aligned with the professional goals of the hire and the goals of the Oceanographic Center, under the general supervision of an Oceanographic Center Faculty member. Job Category Exempt Hiring Range 63,000.00 Pay Basis Annually Subject to Grant Funding Yes Essential Job Functions Conducts research in area of expertise, writing results for inclusion in broader research project. Monitors expenditures of funds and grants. Designs and applies scientific and numerical models in research. Oversees development of data collection and instruments. Monitors integrity of data collection and use of protocols and procedures. Evaluates new technologies to enhance or complement current research. Performs other duties as assigned or required. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils, and computer keyboards. Required Certifications/Licensures Must obtain within three (3) days of hire a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) issued Florida Boating Safety Education Identification Card (only required for boat operators who were born on or after January 1, 1988 as per State of Florida Law). [Mandatory if employee will be operating a boat] SCUBA certification. Must obtain within four (4) weeks of hire an AAUS certification. Required Education Doctorate Degree Major (if required) In related scientific field Required Experience Up to two years of experience in an academic or research environment.
