Patient Care Coordinator / Front Desk Receptionist

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Friday close at 4:30 PM)

Overtime: Minimal overtime, no weekends

Position Overview

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Patient Care Coordinator / Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients, referral sources, and visitors while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate is upbeat, organized, detail-oriented, and able to confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive and compassionate attitude. Because many of our patients are elderly, candidates must possess excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
• Answer high-volume inbound phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
• Schedule and register patients accurately and efficiently
• Maintain open communication with patients, referral sources, corporate offices, and branch locations
• Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and eligibility information
• Process orders and monitor order status throughout the fulfillment process
• Document patient information accurately within company systems
• Learn and utilize W+F software and other internal applications
• Handle walk-in patients while managing phone and computer-based tasks simultaneously
• Make outbound calls to patients, insurance providers, and referral sources as needed
• Provide exceptional customer service and resolve challenging situations professionally
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company procedures

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in a front desk, receptionist, customer service, patient coordinator, or administrative support role
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Outlook and general office software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask effectively and remain calm under pressure
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to accept and apply constructive feedback
• Proven job stability and professional tenure
• Strong verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare administrative experience
• Insurance verification experience, including working with multiple insurance portals
• Durable Medical Equipment (DME) experience
• Medical billing experience
• Call center experience combined with face-to-face customer service
• Experience in medical, optical, or healthcare environments
• Bilingual Arabic language skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dearborn, MI.

The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
