Compensation: $35-40/hour based on experience

Requirements:

• Ability to maintain a smoke free environment
• Reliable transportation
• Able to pass a background check
• COVID/flu vaccination preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred

Proposed Schedule: Two days a week (Mondays/Thursdays) between 10:00 AM-6:00 PM ideally 4-5 hour time block, with flexibility based on projects and family needs. No regular weekend hours required, though occasional flexibility is appreciated.

About Our Family

We are a busy, close-knit family of three with one energetic and fun-loving four-year-old daughter, who attends full-time daycare. Both parents work remotely in demanding roles and are looking for a trusted House Manager who can help bring more organization, structure, and ease to our daily lives.

We love spending time outdoors, reading, hosting friends, and envision a home where weekends feel relaxing instead of overwhelming. We'd love to entertain more often, create more space for hobbies, and simply be more present with one another.

Ultimately, we are in a season of life where we are seeking a long term supportive House Manager who takes ownership and genuinely enjoys organizing, creating systems, and helping a busy family reclaim time and mental bandwidth.

Who You Are

Our goal is simple: create a home that runs smoothly so we can spend less time managing endless to-do lists and more time enjoying family time. You bring genuine experience managing a household, and you're comfortable bringing structure and confidence to a family that has not worked with a house manager before. You're a confident meal planner who thinks ahead about what the family needs and keeps the kitchen stocked and organized. While this isn't a childcare-first role, you're warm and comfortable around kids and can step in for occasional gaps in coverage or camp drop-offs and pickups, ideally with some prior childcare experience or comfort level.

You're proactive, thoughtful, and highly organized, the kind of person who enjoys creating order from chaos and naturally notices what needs to be done before being asked. When it comes to the kitchen you are confident in basic meal prep and may even have some healthy family friendly recipes to share.

Because both parents work from home, you respectfully work quietly and independently, without needing constant direction or check-ins, while still being a great collaborative partner when a project calls for working together, like tackling a closet clean-out. You're highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, the kind of person who leaves every space better than they found it. You communicate proactively but not constantly, a weekly standup rather than frequent ad hoc messages is your style. Most of all you understand how to create ease and reduce the mental load of leading a private family home environment.

Key Responsibilities

Household Management & Organization

• Create and maintain organizational systems throughout the home, including closets, pantry, kitchen, linen storage, and other shared spaces.
• Complete daily household resets, including dishes, wiping surfaces, quick vacuuming of high-traffic areas, and preparing the home for cleaners.
• Coordinate seasonal organization projects, including clothing swaps and household storage updates.
• Declutter spaces and coordinate donation drop-offs, and/or consignment and coordination of all items.
• Prepare the home for guests, holidays, and family gatherings.
• Assist with packing and unpacking for family travel.
• Complete occasional deep cleaning projects, including refrigerators, ovens, and other organizational refreshes.
• Replace and clean air purifier and humidifier filters as needed.

Inventory & Errands

• Maintain pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies.
• Manage recurring household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, etc.).
• Run errands including returns, dry cleaning, grocery pickup, gift shopping, and household purchases.
• Sort mail, manage packages, and break down boxes.
• Help create simple systems for managing incoming mail and subscriptions.

Meal Preparation

• Align with family preferences and prepare healthy, family-friendly meals and snacks.
• Batch cook approximately 2-3 dinners each week.
• Prepare school lunches when needed.
• Coordinate grocery shopping and meal-related household inventory.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and stocked.

Laundry & Linen Care

• Keep laundry moving throughout the week.
• Fold and put away clothing as time allows.
• Rotate household linens and towels.
• Occasionally steam or iron garments.
• Maintain an organized and well-stocked laundry area.

Family Support & Child Assistance

• Provide occasional gap coverage for daycare pick-up or drop-off when needed.
• Prepare backpacks, snacks, and child-related items.
• Assist with packing for family travel.
• Help research and screen babysitters.
• Support with sign-ups for summer camps, extracurricular activities, and child-related scheduling.
• Build a warm, positive relationship with our daughter while recognizing that childcare is a supportive component of the role, not the primary responsibility.

Vendor & Property Coordination

• Coordinate cleaners, contractors, landscapers, and other household vendors.
• Research quotes and manage follow-up communication for home projects.
• Assist with seasonal outdoor maintenance and organization.
• Help oversee home projects as needed.

Administrative & Personal Support

• Assist with family calendar management and scheduling.
• Research family-friendly travel ideas, restaurants, and activities.
• Coordinate appointments and household logistics.
• Support planning for school breaks, camps, and seasonal activities.
