Day Camp Bible Counselor

Position Summary The Day Camp Bible Counselor is responsible for planning and teaching Bible classes to children ages 6-12 during summer Day Camp. The Bible Counselor will work with other Day Camp staff to provide a safe and meaningful summer Day Camp experience in a Christian environment. Essential Responsibilities Preparing weekly lessons for the Bible classes, using provided curriculum Responsible for instruction of the Bible class sessions with day camp groups Responsible for praying and following up with youth who would like to make a commitment to Christ during camp sessions Responsible for the supervision of campers in each class, with assistance of their counselor Track and report names of youth accepting Christ during camp sessions Attend all staff meetings Prepare and clean meeting space before and after each session Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Education/Experience High school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities Some college with a focus on biblical studies, preferred Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge and understanding of the Bible and its truths for Christian living Some experience in working with and teaching children Computer Skills Basic skills in Microsoft Office 365 Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint Willingness to learn new software as needed Certificates and Licenses Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed Complete First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days #J-18808-Ljbffr The Salvation Army USA Central Territory
