Dental Assistant

David Raines Community Health Centers is looking for passionate, qualified applicants to join our team! Dental Assistant Responsibilities Assists the dentist in all dental procedures. Completes Time Out/Intake (blood pressure, pulse, pain scale, chief complaint) on all patients. Breaks down and sets up operations. Properly sterilizes operatories and equipment between patients. Takes X-rays; develops X-rays; mounts X-rays. Keeps the operatories well stocked with supplies. Orders supplies as necessary. Stores and keeps track of all dental laboratory cases. Fills out and tracks Medicaid/insurance pre-authorizations. Monitors the upkeep of dental equipment on a weekly basis. Tests the autoclaves on a weekly basis. Assists in laboratory duties. Makes sure patient is properly draped and ready for procedure. Wear proper protective equipment during procedures, include gloves, gown and mask. Reports any equipment repair that is needed to the supervisor. Prepares for and acts appropriately to medical emergencies in the dental office. Must be available to rotate on occasion, as may be necessary, to other DRCHC sites (Bossier, Gilliam, Haynesville, Minden, or Shreveport). Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Must have Xray certification per State Dental Board of Louisiana. Must have certificate of graduation from a dental assistant training program and/or minimum of 1 year experience as full-time dental assistant. Experience with electronic dental records preferred.
