Assistant Baseball Coach

Summary CMHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Assistant Baseball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching the fundamentals of baseball, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship among young athletes. This position is a seasonal role that requires effective communication, organization, and a commitment to the growth and development of student‑athletes. Responsibilities Help plan and conduct daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies. Help organize and oversee all aspects of the baseball program, including scheduling games and practices. Teach players the rules of the game, proper techniques, and sportsmanship. Monitor the academic and athletic progress of student‑athletes, ensuring they balance both responsibilities. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding player development, schedules, and any concerns. Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote a positive athletic environment. Ensure the safety and well‑being of all players during practices and games. Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good condition. Assist in the selection of team members through tryouts and evaluations. Promote a positive team culture and encourage sportsmanship and respect among players. Requirements Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school level or with youth sports. Strong knowledge of baseball techniques, rules, and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff. First Aid and CPR certification Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies. Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and any additional team events. A passion for working with middle school students and promoting their personal and athletic development.
