Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician works independently under moderate supervision, performs planned and corrective maintenance on electrical, HVAC, mechanical, life safety, and plumbing systems. Operates industrial HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, air handlers and pumps. Operates life safety systems, including fire alarm and suppression systems. Incumbents are not permitted to deviate from standard practices and procedures, but may be permitted to set priorities, subject to supervisory approval.What You Will Be DoingPerform preventive maintenance on building engineering systems.Diagnose and perform corrective maintenance on building engineering systems.Build, modify, and repair furniture per provided drawings. Conduct large room setups for conferences.Operate and repair HVAC, mechanical, life safety, electrical and plumbing systems.Monitor vendor's performance of major equipment systems maintenancePerform light carpentry and electrical work such as painting, drywall repairs and ballast changes.Monitor and operate critical facilities equipment using Automated Building Management System and inform management of any abnormalities discovered.What We Require3+ years related work experience in: building systems (HVAC, electro-mechanical, etc.) maintenance and repairHigh school diploma or GEDKnowledge of chiller plant operations and basic maintenance of HVAC systems.Knowledge of basic electrical operations and maintenance.Experience reading blueprints and Mechanical, Electrical and plumbing plans.Experience with pump, bearing, and fan motor replacementsExperience Identifying and replacing faulty plumbing components.Experience working on a computer in a Windows environment.Must meet the requirements to be classified as a Regular Driver in accordance with Vehicle Use Policy Number 4.16.Must be able to work variable shifts, night, and weekend shift rotations, including overtime and holidays.What We PreferExperience with emergency generating systems.Experience with Automated Building Management Systems.Knowledge of UPS systems and operations.Experience with HVAC equipment repairsExperience with troubleshooting and repair of industrial kitchen equipment.General Physical DemandsHeavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently.Physical/Environmental ActivitiesMust be able to travel to multiple locations for work (i.e. travel to attend meetings, events, conferences).Occasionally May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions of cold, heat, wet, and humidity.Frequently May be exposed to outdoor or warehouse conditions of loud noises, vibration, fumes, dust, odors, and mists.Frequently Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, or other equipment.What We OfferAs a Florida Blue employee, you will be at the heart of GuideWell's vision – to lead the nation in transforming health through compassionate, connected, and technology-enabled care that delivers personalized value and empowered living.
