Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Everett, Washington.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center MICU, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and a WA or compact RN license in hand.Details\n \n Work in a high-acuity, fast-paced Medical ICU at a Level II Trauma Center\n Care for medically complex, critically ill patients with respiratory failure, cardiac arrest with TTM, multisystem organ failure, various shock states, CVA post tPA, COVID, ARDS, DKA, and ETOH withdrawal\n Standard patient ratio is 2:1, potentially increasing to 4:1 for boarders awaiting inpatient transfer\n 1 CNA per shift for support\n Frequent procedures include bedside central and arterial line placements, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, para/thoracentesis, and code blue response\n Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)\n Weekend work required\n Floating required, including potential float down to telemetry units and to sister facilities within the state\n Uses EPIC EMR system\n Requirements\n \n Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission\n Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS\n 2 hours of stroke-specific education required annually\n At least 1 year of ICU experience required\n Prior experience with 1:2-3 patient ratios\n Trauma Level II hospital experience required\n Teaching hospital experience preferred\n EPIC charting experience required\n Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CVA/acute stroke management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care\n First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of ICU experience\n Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting\n Additional Information\n \n Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)\n Scrubs of any color permitted except reddish orange\n Facility-paid parking provided\n Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius unless returning at a lower bill rate\n Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility\n Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or per-diem work\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-759856.
