Project Manager 2

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Project Manager to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, directing, application engineering, budgeting and procurement, as well as managing field installation, start-up, and close out of assigned projects. Ensures projects are effectively executed within budgeted cost, time schedules and ensure positive cash flow. In addition, position is key interface with the customer and responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects. As a Project Manager, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows. Key Responsibilities Manage many aspects of assigned projects (typically valued up to $1M) from award through completion, including overall site management, project installation planning, execution, and close-out. Translate customer needs and requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans; review and approve estimated costs prior to bid; engage in project contract negotiation; provide technical assistance to sales force as needed. Supervise project design engineering, installation labor, and subcontractors; prepare project schedules, subcontracts, change proposals, and project invoices; assist with collections on projects. Effectively communicate project requirements to the project team and wider organization; maintain accurate, up-to-date records of job status, job changes, material flow, and other control records necessary for internal and external reporting. Act as the customer’s best service provider at all times, ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service. Identify potential project risks and develop or implement strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and deadlines. Proactively communicate project schedules, change proposals, and related activities on a regular basis with the customer; seek to continuously improve customer satisfaction. Manage procurement, including selection of materials, supplies, and services to ensure timely and cost-effective completion within budget. Establish project milestones and analyze costs; review actual versus estimated job cost and provide timely, accurate project cost reports; identify reasons for low job site productivity and determine impact on the project; adjust or correct the project plan and/or cost estimates as necessary. Manage execution and review of all scope of work, terms and conditions in customer contracts including cost control, delivery fulfillment, quality control standards, and other customer requirements. Manage direct reports, if applicable, and subcontractor selection process and work. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required. Qualifications Project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm systems, electronic security systems and AV systems). Coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills; solid leadership orientation with a focus on role modeling, guiding, and developing others. Team leadership, team building, and facilitation skills. Shows initiative, engages proactively, and seeks opportunities. Adaptable to change, responds effectively to new situations; ability to influence others and build consensus using strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for solutions; solid conflict resolution skills. Financial analytical skills including cost control. Basic ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point. Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles.
