Financial Analyst 2Location: Birmingham, AL Contract- 1 Year Client- Alabama PowerJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to support our Customer Solutions team by providing key financial planning, analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, financial modeling skills, and experience in forecasting and budgeting. This role will collaborate with management to influence strategic decisions and improve financial performance through data-driven insights.Key Responsibilities:Gather and consolidate financial data including budgets and income statement forecastsBuild and support financial models for forecasting and business planningPerform cost analysis and report on spending trendsAnalyze financial data using KPIs and provide actionable recommendationsResearch accounting issues and ensure compliance with internal controlsProduce sophisticated reports on financial status, risk, and variance analysisConduct comparative and statistical analyses using spreadsheets and financial softwareSupport business case preparation and evaluate new and existing projectionsConsult with leadership on financial strategy and long-term planningDrive process improvement initiatives to enhance financial operationsQualifications & Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5–10 years of experience in financial planning, modeling, analysis, and budgetingProven working experience as a Financial AnalystProficiency with MS Office (especially Excel), financial software, and databasesStrong understanding of corporate finance, forecasting, and risk assessmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with internal controls, auditing, and complianceAbility to present complex data in a clear and actionable formatPreferred Skills:Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and packagesOutstanding presentation and stakeholder engagement capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment
