Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking a dedicated Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Outpatient Dialysis team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of chronic dialysis experience and be committed to providing compassionate care to our patient population.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide patient care in an outpatient dialysis setting, managing a nurse to patient ratio of 1:3-4.Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including heparin, Zemplar, and darbepoetin alfa.Be proficient in reading water room parameters and operate bicarb mixers (training will be provided).Collaborate with the Charge Nurse to ensure smooth operational flow within the department.Participate in team scheduling and be flexible with shift changes as needed to cover staff shortages.QualificationsCurrent BLS certification required.A minimum of 1 year of experience in chronic dialysis.Ability to work under pressure and respond to patient needs effectively.Strong commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and infection control protocols.Shift DetailsShifts are variable and may include morning and evening hours, with rotating weekends and every other holiday required. The schedule will be posted six weeks in advance, with adjustments made based on staff availability and patient census.OrientationNew hires will participate in three 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation with an experienced RN.Additional InformationEmergency response and Code team available for patient status changes.Patient demographics include adults to geriatric patients with a mix of central catheters and fistulas.Location is equipped with 7 licensed chairs and utilizes Fersenius 2008T equipment.Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system utilized is Clarity.Physical RequirementsThis role requires the physical ability to manage patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the highest standards of care and comfort for patients.Work EnvironmentThe team consistently emphasizes teamwork and collaboration to create a supportive work environment.
