Operations Manager Trainee - Fleet Maintenance

Job Summary The Operations Management Trainee will support the shop management process and assist in cost savings, customer retention, and metric‑based initiatives. The trainee works cross‑functionally across Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Quality, and Rental Management. The program is fast‑paced and touches every aspect of the business unit, providing industry knowledge, skills, and resources to develop an operations & fleet maintenance background. Successful trainees can carve their own career path, with promotion opportunities to Ops Supervisor based on performance. Job Details Location: Warwick, RI Schedule: Monday – Friday Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Salary: Paid weekly Work schedules are subject to change as the trainee progresses in the program. Responsibilities Provide quality customer interface, proactive customer management, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction. Coordinate with the rental department to ensure maximum utilization without compromising lease customers. Partner with Sales staff on customer calls for new business and increased customer satisfaction. Manage running costs and maintenance overheads, ensuring policies and processes are followed to optimize running costs and maintenance. Coordinate with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction. Ensure accurate PM scheduling and follow up, breakdowns and vehicle status updates; oversee Technician work planning for efficiency, training, and flexibility. Relocate within the business unit at the conclusion of the training program. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices. Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. 1 year or more in customer service with issues resolution experience. Strong PC knowledge/skills, including advanced spreadsheet and word processing. Basic understanding of business finance, controls and metrics. Compensation Salary: $55,000 per year (annually). The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan based on level and/or type.
