Special Education Teacher – Full-Time

Location: Fallon, Nevada
Assignment Dates: August 17, 2026 – June 4, 2027 (with June 7–9, 2027 designated as contingency days)

Position Overview

The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with all special education regulations and IEP requirements.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide specialized instruction tailored to student needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Participate in evaluations, eligibility meetings, and IEP team meetings
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Support students academically, socially, and behaviorally as needed

Caseload: Varies depending on assignment and position
Multiple school-site opportunities may be available throughout the district

About the District

This small, rural Nevada school district serves approximately 600 students receiving special education services and continues to experience steady growth. The district consists of:

1 Early Childhood Center
3 Elementary Schools
1 Middle School
1 High School

All schools are conveniently located within town, allowing for minimal travel between sites. While caseloads may begin the year at manageable levels, the district remains active in identifying and supporting students, having completed approximately 100 evaluations during the previous school year.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field
Valid Nevada Special Education Teaching License (or ability to obtain)
Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Experience with IEP development and implementation preferred
