We are currently looking for a driven individual to join our team in Houston, Texas as a Color Consultant Business Development Manager. We are introducing an exciting new 12-month pilot role within our Colour Consultancy team to accelerate growth through local market development, trade engagement, and consultancy delivery.

Farrow & Ball is a luxury British lifestyle brand that prides itself in creating richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper, using print methods dating back 300 years and the finest quality ingredients.

The Colour Consultancy Business Development Manager (CC BDM) is a revenue-generating role combining expertise in colour, product, and brand with commercial accountability. This position is responsible for driving appointment volume, building local partnerships, and converting consultations into sales, growing business within a defined territory.
This role sits at the intersection of client experience, business development, and sales performance, creating a repeatable, scalable growth model for Colour Consultancy that is channel agnostic, offering client led experience first.

What we expect from you

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Market Development

• Grow your territory by developing new lead sources, building relationships, and identifying opportunities with new clients, markets, and referral partners.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, designers, trade professionals, and key industry contacts.
• Establish a strong presence within retail partner locations and designer stations to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
• Turn customer interest into booked Colour Consultancy appointments through effective follow-up and relationship building.
• Partner with stockists to provide training, strengthen relationships, and encourage referrals that drive business growth.

Trade & Relationship Development

• Build strong relationships with painters, contractors, and trade professionals
• Conduct on-site and in-store engagement to promote product and colour expertise
• Drive specification through to application ("spec to wall"), ensuring projects convert into product sales

Consultations & Commercial Delivery

• Deliver in-home, in-store, and virtual colour consultations
• Produce professional paint specifications aligned to client needs
• Manage the full customer journey from lead generation consultation conversion sale
• Support and complete transactions, ensuring a seamless client experience

Key Attributes:

• Experience in sales or customer-facing roles, with strong commercial acumen and the ability to build relationships across retail and trade networks to drive revenue and conversions.
• Interior Design knowledge/experience - able to create inspirational spaces and be aware of trends and influencers across all platforms (print, online, social media etc.).
• Self-motivated and organized, with the confidence to work independently across a territory and manage the full sales cycle from first contact to close.
• Confident communicator, skilled at presenting, pitching, and influencing
• IT proficient - Microsoft Office (Excel essential), iPad, CRM, sales systems, internal F&B systems
• This is a field-based role involving frequent driving within the local territory to deliver Colour Consultations with stockists and customers. Candidates should be comfortable with time spent on the road.
