Station Electrician

Job Summary Perform and direct the installation and maintenance of complex electrical equipment and electronic circuits. ***We strongly encourage you to attach an updated resume*** Essential Functions Install, replace, and adjust brushes on exciters and generators while in operation. Undercut and stone commutators. Work on energized equipment and circuits. Perform work on energized equipment in the maintenance of substations, such as, cleaning insulators and coating insulators. Take reasonable care of Company tools and equipment that are assigned to them. Keep assigned equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition. Report irregularities and abnormal conditions. Direct and instruct employees assigned to work with them. Assist in training of other employees. Perform similar or less skilled work in this classification or, when the diversity of work load requires, perform similar or less skilled work in equal or lower classifications. Perform duties in accordance with the Company's safety rules and operating regulations and practices. Complete any reports and forms used in connection with the performance of duties. Required Qualifications for Position Satisfactorily performed the duties of Apprentice Station Electrician or the equivalent. Have a thorough working knowledge of the electrical system, voltages, circuit numbers, and communication systems in use in the Station. Have a thorough working knowledge of the use of wiring diagrams and electrical test instruments. Be able to perform, instruct, direct, and advise others in the performance of all types of station electrical work.
