Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Location: Woodbridge, VA

Work Shift: Third (Nights)

Overview:

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Virginia is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a 14 week temporary position with no benefits provided. The position requires 12 hour shifts during nights, with every other weekend included.

Position Details:

*****This is a "primary" position and we do not schedule around another job. Flexibility in scheduling required.

Pay Rate: $80/hr

Education:

Associate's Degree Nursing

Bachelor's Degree Nursing

Diploma in Nursing

Certification/Licensure:

Required: Registered Nurse eligible to practice in VA

TNCC, ACLS, BLS NIHSS Required

Experience:

At least 2 years of recent bedside acute care emergency department as an RN required

EPIC user strongly preferred

Duties/Responsibilities:

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
