Position Summary

The Registered Nurse works collaboratively with other healthcare team members, focusing on patient and family education while assessing and initiating appropriate interventions for patients.

Essential Job Functions

Physical Requirements

• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Standing: Maintain a standing posture for extended periods.
• Walking: Good balance and coordination for mobility within the work area.
• Climbing: Rarely ascend or descend ladders and stairs.
• Twisting/Bending/Stooping/Kneeling: Flexibility and range of motion are required.
• Reaching: Ability to lift and carry objects above shoulder level.
• Fine Finger Movements: Frequent use of hands and fingers for tasks.
• Vision: Close visual acuity for data preparation and analysis.
• Cognitive Skills: Ability to learn, remember processes, and make timely decisions.

Exposures

Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation from medical imaging, various chemicals, and emotionally challenging situations including distressed patients and difficult family interactions.

Schedule Requirements

• Regular and sustained attendance is crucial for this role.
• May require working beyond the standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
• On-call work may be needed to address organizational or patient needs.

Qualifications

• Current Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse).
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• STABLE certification and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (recertification required every two years).
• Experience in Labor & Delivery, including antepartum, intrapartum, preoperative, circulating, and PACU roles is preferred.

Work Environment

This position may involve the necessity to float to other departments as a safety companion and to act as Charge Nurse when required.
