Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary:The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting daily production operations through hands-on interaction with manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting issues, maintaining SQL and Ignition databases and assisting with process improvements. This role focuses on maintaining equipment performance, supporting production efficiency, and implementing solutions to meet customer and business requirements.The position works closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to ensure equipment and processes are operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.Major Responsibilities/Activities:Monitor and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and systems to support daily productionPerform routine equipment setup, adjustments, and changeoversAssist in the installation and startup of new equipment and production linesIdentify equipment inefficiencies and support continuous improvement initiativesPerform basic root cause analysis on equipment and process issues and assist in implementing corrective actionsPerform basic problem solving activities and A3 style problem solving activitiesSupport preventive maintenance activities and coordinate with maintenance teams as neededRead and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and equipment documentationAssist in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructionsConduct basic system or product testing as requiredDocument production issues, equipment performance, and corrective actionsAdditional Responsibilities:This role may participate in cross-functional projects and support activities outside of core responsibilities, particularly those involving equipment, tooling, or production processes.Minimum Requirements:Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)5 – 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environmentStrong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing equipment and toolsExperience with troubleshooting equipment and basic maintenance practices preferredAbility to read technical drawings and documentationBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Familiarity with PLC programmingFamiliarity with SQL and IgnitionFamiliarity with CAD or 3D modeling software is a plusAbility to work on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to work flexible hours as needed to support productionEssential Mental Functions:Strong attention to detail and commitment to safetyAbility to follow established procedures while identifying opportunities for improvementSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective communication with operators, engineers, and supervisorsEssential Physical Functions:Ability to safely work in a production environment, including frequent walking and standingCapability to lift, reach, and perform tasks associated with equipment operation and setupComfortable working around manufacturing equipment and machineryTravel Requirements:Travel is expected to be less than 10%Equipment Used:This role regularly utilizes manufacturing equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring devices, along with standard computer software.Additional Comments:Hörmann offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and paid time off.Job SummaryRequisition Number: MANUF001738Job Category: EngineeringSchedule: Full-Time
