Job Description

This role provides end-to-end leadership for IT-driven digital initiatives, focusing on security hardening, infrastructure modernization, software upgrades, and the retirement of obsolete technologies. The Project/Program Manager IT 3 translates complex enterprise IT requirements into clear, actionable project plans and drives alignment between digital product and engineering teams and core IT technical teams. Success in this role relies on timely delivery of IT projects, strong stakeholder communication, proactive risk and dependency management, and consistent use of Azure DevOps and Confluence for tracking and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of IT-driven digital projects, including security hardening, infrastructure modernization, software upgrades, and retirement of legacy technologies.
• Translate complex enterprise IT requirements into clear project plans, including scope, milestones, risks, dependencies, and execution steps for business and engineering stakeholders.
• Drive alignment and collaboration between digital product and engineering teams and IT technical teams to ensure timely delivery of shared priorities.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives.
• Use Azure DevOps to manage backlogs, track work items, monitor progress, and provide visibility into project status.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation in Confluence, ensuring accurate, up-to-date information for all stakeholders.
• Provide effective stakeholder communication and status reporting, tailoring updates to audiences across business, engineering, and IT organizations.
• Proactively identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies, and implement mitigation plans to minimize impact.
• Coordinate infrastructure migrations, software upgrades, technology retirements, and security-related initiatives, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple locations and time zones, including teams in the US and India.
• Ensure consistent adherence to established project management processes, standards, and best practices.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail in planning, execution, and reporting to maintain high-quality project outcomes.

• 5–7 years of IT project or program management experience, with a focus on infrastructure and technology initiatives.
• Strong IT technical background with hands-on experience managing infrastructure migrations, software upgrades, technology retirements, and security-related initiatives.
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps for work tracking, backlog management, and progress monitoring.
• Proficiency in Confluence for documentation, collaboration, and knowledge management.
• Demonstrated experience delivering security hardening and software upgrade projects.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a complex, cross-functional environment.
• Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to connect across organizations, business units, and locations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into clear, actionable plans.
• Heavy attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum education requirement).
• Stable employment history demonstrating sustained tenure in prior roles.

• PMP certification is a plus but not required.
• Experience working in hybrid teams distributed across multiple locations and time zones, including international teams.
• Ability to clearly document relocation plans and logistics when moving to a preferred office location at personal expense, if not already local.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively address risks and issues.
• Experience using data and reporting tools such as Power BI is beneficial.
• Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and drive projects to completion in a dynamic environment.

This role operates in a remote-hybrid work environment, with 2–3 days per week in the office. Preferred office locations include Chicago or Peoria, with additional options in Dallas and Broomfield. The position follows a standard Monday–Friday, first-shift schedule and involves regular collaboration with teams in both the United States and India. Up to 25% travel may be required to support project work, stakeholder engagement, and cross-site collaboration. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

The pay range for this position is $51.00 - $56.00/hr.
