Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Hilo, Hawaii. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Summary PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse Hawaii. This position entails caring for patients in the post-anesthesia recovery phase, including preoperative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery. The role requires advanced knowledge of anesthesiology, critical care skills, and the ability to monitor and assess post-surgical patients effectively. The position involves working in a dynamic healthcare environment with diverse shifts and unit responsibilities. Job Details Position Description: Caring for patients in pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery after surgery. PACU nurses must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology and post-anesthesia care, including assessing incision sites and monitoring vital signs for stability or complications. Required Qualifications: Hawaii professional license, BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) from the American Heart Association, minimum of 2 years experience as a critical care RN (ER & ICU) in a hospital setting or relevant experience, and the ability to arrive by the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment. Preferred Qualifications: PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) credential from the American Heart Association is recommended and may be required for specific positions; other specialty certifications such as NIHSS and TNCC are preferred and may be required. Schedule: Rotating shifts varying between 8, 10, and 12 hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends/holidays, with no guarantee of hours or shift preference. On-Call shifts may occur 0-3 times per month, including 8-hour night and 24-hour weekend/holiday shifts. Additional Information: Must arrive the Thursday before the start date to attend employee health appointment on the following Friday. Candidates should not accept the start date if unable to be timely present.
