Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller

• Support oversight of property-level accounting including month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting as the Assistant Controller

• Review reconciliations and ensure accuracy across balance sheet and income statement accounts as the Assistant Controller

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for assigned properties as the Assistant Controller

• Support compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies as the Assistant Controller

• Partner with leadership to improve workflows, reporting consistency, and accounting processes as the Assistant Controller

• Help mentor and support accounting staff within the real estate accounting team as the Assistant Controller

Qualifications for the Assistant Controller

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 5+ years of property or commercial real estate accounting experience

• Hands-on experience with Yardi, RealPage, or similar ERP systems required

• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and reconciliations

• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close

• Detail-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills
