A day in this role

Morning starts on the plant floor in Ogden, UT, where you check preventive maintenance tasks, review work orders, and align with the Maintenance Supervisor on priorities. From there, you move between troubleshooting PLC-driven systems, verifying motor controls, and installing circuits to National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. You’ll measure, cut, and bend conduit; repair switches, fuses, and contactors; and keep meticulous maintenance records—all while coordinating with the central maintenance shop to keep production moving.

What you’ll own

• Construct, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and install industrial electrical equipment and systems, including motors, process pumps and controls, programmable logic controls (PLCs), and building/handling equipment.
• Install and repair building electrical systems in accordance with NEC requirements.
• Maintain, test, and repair electrical circuitry and equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of components.
• Execute preventive maintenance; document and maintain accurate PM records.
• Diagnose issues and replace or repair defective components efficiently.
• Receive and follow written and verbal instructions from the Maintenance Supervisor; notify the supervisor of irregularities per established procedures.
• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using a variety of hand tools.
• Repair/replace switches, fuses, controls, breakers, and related electrical hardware.
• Coordinate area activities with the central maintenance shop; assist other maintenance technicians and engineers.
• Periodically provide direction to lower-classified craft persons and train other crafts persons as assigned.
• Work safely around process equipment and chemicals; observe all safety rules.
• Maintain a clean work area and return tools, unused materials, and written references to designated locations.

Tools and systems you’ll use

• Electrical testing instruments and both manual and power hand tools.
• Tube benders, splicing equipment, and wire-pulling equipment, plus miscellaneous hand tools.
• Wire, contactors, switches, motors, breakers, fuses, and other electrical hardware in an industrial environment.

Compensation highlight

$5000 sign on bonus for well qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; applicable trade/technical school education in industrial electrical maintenance may count toward part of the experience requirement.
• Five (5) years of electrical craft experience, including at least three (3) years in industrial electrical maintenance.
