Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will provide public health nursing services for PCPHSD clinics, including immunizations, reproductive health education, patient screening, testing support, counseling, and provider assistance. The RN will help maintain continuity of care and support clinic operations across Pinal County locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer immunizations, including influenza and COVID-19 vaccines, according to ACIP-approved immunization schedules.
• Provide reproductive health information and education with a focus on prevention, wellness, and patient-centered care.
• Perform vital signs, patient education, and counseling.
• Conduct reproductive health testing, including pregnancy, syphilis, HIV, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea testing.
• Provide patients with support, resources, and guidance as needed.
• Discuss reproductive life plans and provide non-biased options counseling.
• Assist clinic providers with patient care and clinical workflows.
• Document patient information and clinical services in PCPHSD, state, federal, and EHR systems as required.
• Safeguard confidential and privileged patient information in accordance with applicable laws and PCPHSD policy.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current valid Arizona State Board of Nursing RN license.
• Experience in public health, reproductive health, immunizations, patient education, or clinic-based nursing services.
• Foundational knowledge or operational experience with EHR workflows and systems.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts and provide services at PCPHSD clinic locations.

Required Skills

Immunization administration, reproductive health education, vital signs, STI testing support, patient counseling, options counseling, provider assistance, EHR documentation, HIPAA compliance, patient resources, and culturally sensitive care.

Certification / Credentialing Requirements

• Current CPR certification.
• Hepatitis B and MMR immunization records.
• TB skin test, TB blood test, or chest X-ray from the last twelve months.
• Valid Arizona DPS fingerprint clearance card.
• Successful seven-year comprehensive criminal background check.

Clearance / Security Requirement

No formal security clearance is stated; however, the RN must comply with fingerprinting, background check, HIPAA, PHI, and confidentiality requirements.
