Mobile Diesel Technician

At Total Tire Solutions, with our trusted partner True North Fleet Services, we are looking for an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support our customers and keep their fleets moving. This is a hands‑on field position for a technician who is confident working independently, diagnosing problems, making quality repairs, and communicating directly with customers. You'll operate from a fully equipped mobile service vehicle and be trusted to assess equipment, determine the right course of action, and get the job done safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on heavyduty trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment at customer locations Diagnoses and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using experience, diagnostic tools, and service information Repair diesel engines, brakes, suspension, steering, electrical systems, and related components Respond to mobile service and roadside repair needs Independently assess equipment issues and determine appropriate repair solutions Perform DOT inspections and ensure applicable safety and compliance standards are met Clearly communicate equipment conditions, repair recommendations, and job status with customers and internal teams Accurately document inspections, diagnostics, repairs, parts, and maintenance activities Manage daily workload, service calls, tools, and mobile inventory effectively Maintain a clean, safe, and organized mobile service vehicle and work environment Represent XXX and True North Fleet Services professionally at every customer location Qualifications 3+ years of diesel, heavyduty truck, fleet, dealership, independent shop, or related mechanical experience preferred Mobile, roadside, or fieldservice experience strongly preferred Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability across mechanical and electrical systems Solid knowledge of diesel maintenance, repair procedures, and preventive maintenance programs Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and complete repairs with limited supervision Strong communication and customerservice skills Selfmotivated, dependable, organized, and safetyminded ASE TSeries certifications preferred (T2, T4, T5, T6, T8) or willingness to obtain Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements CDL is a plus, but not required What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience, technical ability, and certifications Fully equipped mobile service vehicle Paid ASE testing and certification support Wage progression tied to ASE certifications and technical development Consistent workload and exposure to a variety of equipment and repair challenges Access to modern diagnostic tools and technical resourcesTraining and continued development opportunities Stable schedule and longterm career growth Opportunity to advance into Lead Technician, Supervisor, and operational leadership roles Why This Role Works Own your work - diagnose the problem, develop the solution, and see the repair through Work independently while having the support and resources of a larger team Build customer relationships and become a trusted resource for the fleets you support Develop advanced diagnostic and technical skills Working across a variety of trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment Build a career with a growing organization that values technical expertise, accountability, and development For technicians who enjoy solving problems and don't want to spend every day inside the same shop, mobile service provides autonomy, variety, and responsibility to take your career further.
