Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 Years of Experience Required License: Active compact license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: Epic Experience Required Description: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery. First-time travelers are not accepted for this position. Epic experience is required for this role. Certifications needed include BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate; ACLS is preferred. The unit has 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Responsibilities include circulating, assisting with OB-GYN procedures, and providing post-operative care. Special procedures involve blood and blood product administration, cardioversion, and the use of epidural pumps. The RN will attend both low and high-risk deliveries, perform GYN surgeries, and support couplet care. The staffing ratio is 1:1-3, and floating to Post-Partum and NICU may be required based on skill set. Additionally, the RN will administer medications such as heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate. Experience with high-risk antepartum care is essential. Skills in pain assessment and management, triaging obstetrical patients, and maintaining central lines are necessary. The unit serves a diverse patient population, including adolescents, infants, and adults. References covering the last year of experience are required for compliance.
