Make a difference every day by supporting students and educators as a contract paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. In this essential role, you’ll work closely with Exceptional Children (EC) Teachers, providing crucial assistance to help students succeed. Your dedication and ability to connect will create a nurturing learning environment where every child can reach their potential.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or teacher assistant, preferably in a school setting
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff to support student needs
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to relate to students with diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Passion for helping children learn and grow
- Willingness to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and adapt to classroom routines and expectations
- Compliance with any state and district hiring requirements for paraprofessional roles (may include background check)
Main Responsibilities:
- Support EC Teachers in instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision
- Provide direct assistance to individual students and small groups, both in and out of the classroom
- Assist with adapting learning materials to meet student needs
- Encourage and reinforce positive student behavior and participation
- Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under teacher guidance
- Document observations and communicate student progress to the EC teaching team
