Field Service Technician/Electrician

Description Job Purpose: The Field Service Technician/Electrician will provide our customers with on-site diagnosis, setup, maintenance, installation of systems, repair equipment, and assist in the manufacturing shop as needed. They assist customers in troubleshooting issues with production and equipment in person and via phone, email, and text. The Field Service Technician/Electrician will assist customers with planning and performing preventative maintenance. They provide support for other departments to accurately quote and estimate parts and service. Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Install new equipment, and perform tests to ensure proper function; this requires an extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Educate customers on proper function and maintenance of their equipment Perform repairs and maintenance on existing equipment Collaborate with other departments to provide estimates and quotes on service and parts Complete and maintain detailed reports on the services performed and expenses Explain problems and potential solution options to customers Work as a team with other technicians, construction workers, project managers, and contractors Review and mark up technical documents as needed Qualifications and Work Experience: GED or High School diploma is preferred Hands-on field service experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems is preferred Ability to install, repair, test, and troubleshoot parts and equipment Must be able to read technical drawings and manuals Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work independently with little direction on a daily basis Ability to work flexible hours and travel on short notice Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job (lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces) Ability to work as part of a team Ability to take direction from supervisor/foreman Must have valid driver's license CRITICAL COMPETENCIES: Work ethic should display honesty, integrity and a good attitude Eagerness to accept new challenges and assignments and take initiative Analyze and problem-solve with creative solutions and be very organized Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and have a strong attention to detail Have a growth mindset, both personally and for the company
