This role demands adaptability, clinical expertise, and compassionate communication as you respond to diverse medical situations in a critical access hospital setting.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide immediate and comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment for patients of all ages in emergency situationsAdminister medications, manage IV therapy, and operate specialized emergency equipment while adhering to evidence-based protocolsCollaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to stabilize patients and coordinate care transitionsEducate patients and families during high-stress situations, ensuring clear communication and continuity of careContribute to quality improvement initiatives and mentor new staff within the Emergency DepartmentRequired QualificationsGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferredCurrent Vermont or multi-state RN license requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association requiredTNCC preferred; PALS certification required within 1 year of hireEmergency nursing experience preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical skills and interest in emergency care are encouraged to applyAbout NVRHNortheastern Vermont Regional Hospital is located in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, in the Northeast Kingdom.
