CT Technologist - Full-TimeThe CT Technologist assists physicians and performs radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties required in the care and assistance of patients. Works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and physicians. Is primarily responsible for helping with the daily operations of the CT department.Job duties include preparing room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures; maintaining clean and stocked CT procedure room daily; properly warming CT equipment daily, and assuring equipment is working properly; preparing patient for CT procedure – explaining procedure, transferring patient to examination table, positioning patient correctly, and assisting patient at end of procedure; labeling scans appropriately and using proper patient ID on film prior to development of film; performing general clerical, file room, darkroom, and transportation duties when needed to fulfill the workload of the department; practicing patient care according to ARMC policy; assisting Radiologists during procedures and taking scans as requested; being knowledgeable in proper sequence of scheduling exams for the entire Radiology department; considering age-related factors in obtaining images or performing diagnostic or therapeutic imaging studies; applying knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics; regularly accepting additional work during periods of low patient volume and demonstrating a willingness to assist others within the department as requested; maintaining confidentiality and privacy of all data, records, forms, reports, procedures and any other information regarding customer relations of Aiken Regional Medical Centers 100% of the time; knowing and implementing radiation safety procedures when working with radiation producing equipment; reading and reviewing all material in department manuals annually; ensuring that patient charges are given to the appropriate person to be entered into RMS in a timely manner and that the charges are accurate; knowing and maintaining the measures described in the Universal Protocol policy; sending images to PACS appropriately and verifying all are available for interpretation in a timely manner; knowing proper method of using CT power injectors; rotating to other imaging departments as needed; participating in holiday and on-call rotation requirements; and performing other duties as assigned.Benefit highlights include sign-on bonuses for select positions, unlimited employee referral bonus program, competitive compensation and generous paid time off, excellent medical, dental, vision and prescription drug plans, tuition/certification reimbursement after 6 months, culture of excellence – employee recognition program, challenging and rewarding work environment, clinical nursing ladder opportunities, SoFi student loan refinancing program, 401(k) with company match and discounted stock plan, and career development opportunities within UHS and its subsidiaries.Qualifications include successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training, BLS (or obtained within 90 days of employment), current active or temporary South Carolina license issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association and current RT registration, one year experience working in preferred, and CT experience in the clinical setting required.
