Senior Communications Officer - COMMS

Job Summary

Conducts the production and dissemination of Fund's communications products and messaging, develops and implements communications and engagement strategies, and substantively contributes to the review of Fund's policy documents and matrix work.

Major Duties and Responsibilities Listed in Order of Importance

Analyzes Fund's policy issues and review briefing materials and other policy and country papers prepared by departments and provide feedback and comments from the communications perspective.

Coordinates team projects, such as developing messaging, explanatory content, and engaging storytelling about the IMF's activities for digital, multimedia and visual, and print channels and tailored for different audiences. Use structured and data-driven planning and assessment approach.

Organizes events, seminars, meetings, background briefings, and press conferences at the Fund's Headquarters and in the field.

Advises on the Fund`s communications strategy-for both internal and external stakeholders, including on how to effectively use new and emerging communications platforms

Coordinates with other divisions and departments matrix work, through active participation in cross-divisional work, and leadership of, matrix groups.

Minimum Qualifications

Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree, or equivalent, in communications, international relations, languages, or a related field, supplemented by a minimum of eleven years of relevant, progressively responsible work experience, is required. Alternatively, a university degree, or equivalent, and seventeen years of relevant professional experience are required.
