Job Overview Performed entry‑level human resources duties to support the development of broader knowledge and skills for future higher‑level assignments. Tasks include reviewing qualifications, analyzing position data, preparing job descriptions, and applying procedures related to employee relations. Responsibilities Review basic qualifications requirements. Analyze position data and prepare job descriptions. Assist and observe experienced HR staff in routine duties. Apply HR procedures related to employee relations. Required Conditions of Employment U.S. citizenship is required. Males must be registered for Selective Service. Applicable public‑sector security clearance may be required. PCS will be paid according to JTR and AF regulations; a CONUS agreement may be required. A one‑year probationary period will be required. Completion of all training and regulatory requirements as identified in the training plan is mandatory. Must meet suitability criteria for federal employment. Education and Experience Qualifications GS‑07 Eligibility To qualify for a GS‑07 position you must meet one of the following: Completion of one full year of graduate‑level education; or Bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement (defined in the General Policies and Instructions for Qualifications Standards Operating Manual); or Five academic years of pre‑professional study; or One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS‑5. Specialized Experience Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS‑05) or equivalent. Experience may include: Supporting HR specialists using HR information systems. Delivering HR services to military personnel. Participation in classification, recruitment, placement, employee benefits, HR development, performance management, or employee and labor management relations. Processing HR actions for various employee categories, including data collection, form review, employee communication, and document preparation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of basic human‑resources principles and practices. Strong oral and written communication skills. Analytical and evaluative skills for assessing information and formulating solutions. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
