Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the Physical Therapist in executing customized treatment plans that enhance patient mobility and strength.
• Guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to improve physical health and alleviate pain.
• Educating patients on proper body mechanics and home exercise programs to support their rehabilitation goals.
• Administering modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress by tracking their range of motion, strength improvements, and overall functional gains.
• Preparing treatment areas and maintaining an organized supply of equipment for seamless therapy sessions.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team—including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists—to coordinate and enhance patient care plans.
• Providing emotional support to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, fostering a supportive and motivating atmosphere.
• Upholding ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality, and respecting individual rights during treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population that spans all age groups, including children, adults, and the elderly. Our patients may present with conditions ranging from sports injuries and orthopedic surgeries to neurological disorders and chronic illnesses. Understanding the specific needs and challenges of each patient will be crucial in providing effective and empathetic care.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must have:

• An associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• A thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, and relevant therapeutic interventions.
• Proficiency in carrying out therapeutic exercises and utilizing modalities as directed by a Physical Therapist.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and the healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits
