Hospitalist – Independent Practice Track (MedCBO Supported) Job Title: Hospitalist Physician – Independent Practice Physician (Ownership Model, Not Employed) Job Type: Independent Practice Opportunity Overview This posting is for physicians interested in establishing or transitioning into an independently operated medical practice supported by MedCBO’s administrative infrastructure. Physicians own and operate their own practice entity while MedCBO provides non‑clinical business and operational support services. This is not an employed physician position. About MedCBO MedCBO is a healthcare administrative services organization that supports physicians in operating independent medical practices across multiple U.S. markets. MedCBO’s service model is structured to align with corporate practice of medicine (CPOM) principles. Physicians maintain ownership and clinical control of their medical entity while MedCBO provides non‑clinical administrative and operational support. MedCBO provides non‑clinical services, including: Revenue cycle management, coding, and payer contracting support EHR, technology platform, telehealth, and clinical workflow systems Credentialing, enrollments, and facility privileging coordination Accounting, financial reporting, and practice financial infrastructure HR administration, staffing workflows, and compliance support Supply chain and vendor coordination Physician Responsibilities Provide care within the physician’s specialty scope Develop professional relationships within the medical community Coordinate payer credentialing with physician participation as required Determine clinical services offered Manage clinical quality and patient experience Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination Billing and collections management Payer contract negotiation Financial infrastructure and reporting Operational workflows and staffing systems Technology platform and implementation Requirements To qualify, candidates must: Be an MD or DO with an unrestricted license in good standing in the intended state of practice Be board certified or board eligible in a specialty appropriate to the clinical services provided Be eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable Be able to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates Have no current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions that would prevent independent practice Have an interest in the independent practice model Preferred Desire for practice ownership Community-based care interest Leadership or program development interest Location Multiple U.S. markets available (urban, suburban, and rural). Relocation and market selection are physician-directed, subject to licensure. Compensation Compensation is not a salary and is generated by the physician‑owned practice.
