Fixed Asset Accountant

Title: Fixed Asset Accountant
Location: Sugarland TX
Duration: Open ended contract
Compensation: $35/hr
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.


Skillset / Experience:
Asset Capitalization Review

• Review all assets capitalized during these years.
• Ensure compliance with capitalization policies and accounting standards.

Supporting Documentation Verification

• Confirm that each asset has complete and accurate supporting documentation.
• This includes:
  • Excel files (e.g., asset registers, calculations)
  • Invoices and purchase orders

Asset Review Focus

• Conduct detailed reviews of asset entries for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify any discrepancies or missing information.

WIP (Work in Progress) to In-Service Transfers

• Monitor and process the transition of assets from WIP to in-service status.
• Ensure proper timing and documentation of these transitions.

Documentation Standards

• Maintain thorough and organized documentation for audit readiness.
• Ensure traceability from initial purchase to capitalization.

Expense vs. Capitalization

• Review items expensed to the P&L to ensure none should have been capitalized.
• Reclassify if necessary, with proper justification and documentation.
