Chief Financial Officer

In partnership with the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for the overall financial strategy, stewardship, and long-term financial sustainability of Enso Village. The CFO provides both strategic and operational leadership for all financial functions across the organization, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. In collaboration with the CEO and Board of Directors, the CFO promotes communications and exchanges with the resident community regarding budgets and financial performance.

The CFO serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and Executive Leadership Team, and a liaison to residents, translating financial information into actionable business insights that support organizational growth, operational excellence, risk management, and mission fulfillment.

This role oversees all financial operations, including accounting, treasury management, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, bond compliance, investment oversight, internal controls, and financial systems. The CFO partners closely with Human Resources and operational leaders to support labor planning, strategic initiatives, organizational performance, capital investments, and resident engagement in budgeting.

Position qualifications and requirements include:

  • Ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, including senior executive-level finance leadership experience.
  • Prior experience as a CFO, Vice President of Finance, Finance Director, or equivalent senior financial leadership role is required.
  • Required experience in senior living, healthcare, CCRC, or RCFE environments, with nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Boards of Directors, Finance Committees, lenders, investors, auditors, executive leadership teams, and the residents/communities being served.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into clear, meaningful, and accessible information for a variety of audiences, including board members, residents, executive leaders, and team members, to support informed decision-making.
  • CPA strongly preferred; MBA, MHA, or other advanced business degree desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, and highly collaborative environment while balancing strategic priorities and operational demands.
  • Strong knowledge of banking relationships, treasury and cash management, financial analysis, GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditures, depreciation, audit practices, internal controls, and California payroll and wage and hour requirements.
  • Understanding of or willingness to develop knowledge related to electronic health record systems, senior living operations, and RCFE/CCRC regulatory environments.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility with work schedules to support meetings, organizational initiatives, special projects, and operational needs.

Role-based competencies include:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial practices, regulatory compliance, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in financial software systems, reporting tools, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences, including operational leaders, executive leadership, boards, and residents.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively within a team-oriented and resident-centered environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, integrity, and ethical financial practices.

Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional standing and walking.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and move throughout the community.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Adequate visual acuity for working at a computer and managing data with attention to detail.

Compensation & benefits:

Enso Village is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $208,687 to $278,687. Compensation is based on experience, education, skills, and business considerations.
