In this role you will be responsible for designing electronic analog & digital hardware for new fire alarm products as well as supporting existing product lines. Work may include analog design, embedded system designs, small signal and instrumentation circuitry, switch mode power supplies, front panel user interfaces, audio amplifiers, peer-to-peer networking, linear power supplies, sensors and detectors, and fiber optics. In addition, research new technology that can be used within these products.This position is based in Westford, MA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the office, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available.How you will do it Work on analog and digital design and analysisWork on microcontroller and embedded system designWork with other organizations to conceive, develop, and release new products to productionWork in a team environment to generate creative solutions to product needsPossibly lead small cross-functional teams of less senior engineers (typ. electrical & mechanical), being responsible for costing, scheduling, and meeting design requirementsWork closely with Product Management to determine product specificationsUnderstand how to design equipment to meet agency certifications (UL, ULC, CE, FCC)What you will needRequired Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering8+ years of experience in electronics design related to analog, power, audio, or embedded products/systemsLow-current analog designElectronic component-level knowledge and experienceExperience with electronic CAD (schematic capture, circuit simulation, or related)PreferredPower supply design, microprocessors and embedded system designExperience with Data Acquisition systems and lab equipment automationMechanical design support experienceExperience with optics/physicsFire Detection product industry experienceExperience transitioning products to manufacturingHIRING SALARY RANGE: $130,000 - $150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
