Foundry Casting Machine Operator

A day in the life in Cary, ILPicture starting your shift in a modern foundry where precision meets craft. You review the production schedule, set up your casting machine, and prep molds and cores so they’re clean, defect-free, and ready for molten metal. As pours begin, you monitor the process closely—adjusting parameters to keep quality tight and output consistent. Finished castings move to inspection, where you check dimensions against drawings, confirm surface integrity, and make tweaks when needed. Throughout the day you keep your area orderly and safe, collaborate with teammates to solve issues quickly, and document the runs you complete so production data stays spot-on.$1,000 Sign On Bonus offered for active employment. We’ll train you on a unique, in-demand trade.What you’ll doSet up and operate casting machines and related foundry equipment to produce high-quality metal castings.Prepare molds and cores to specification, ensuring they are clean and free of defects.Continuously monitor casting parameters to maintain consistency and quality.Inspect finished castings for dimensional accuracy and finish; adjust processes when necessary.Keep your workstation clean, organized, and compliant with all safety protocols.Work with teammates to troubleshoot issues and improve throughput and quality.Accurately record production data and maintain documentation.What you’ll bringHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical/foundry training is a plus.Prior experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment preferred.Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Solid basic math skills; comfortable with measurement tools.Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Comfort working in a physically demanding setting and following safety guidelines.Proficiency we valueWarehouse ExperienceTape Measure ReadingHeavy Material HandlingMetal Stamping & Forming (Progressive Die)Experience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentReady to build a career in metal casting?
