Mandatory Experience:

Med Onc PCU
ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED!
Schedule: *If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department's needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.
Required: High acuity PCU patient experience: Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
Special Equipment:
- B450 monitors GE telemetry system.
- Bladder Scanner.
- Alaris pumps.
- Stryker beds.
- Continuous Bladder Irrigation
- PCA Pumps
Requirements:
- Overall 2 years of acute care nursing exp, with atleast 1 year of PCU experience
- Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), ACLS & NIH
- Ratio: 1:4-5 Med Surg Telemetry
- Ratio: 1:3 PCU
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
- Previous travel experience preferred.

- Blood Product Administration
- Central line care/management
- Peripheral Line Care/Management
- PICC line management
- Starting IVs
- Heparin Protocols
- Manage Cardia drips- no titration
- PCA
- Titrate Cardiac drips
- Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac
- External CPAP/BIPAP
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Interpretation of ABGs
- Nasal Cannula
- Tracheostomy Management
Skills Preferred:
- Management of dysrhythmias
- IV insulin protocols
- Titration of Insulin drips
- Phlebotomy
- Chemotherapy Administration
- Monitoring Chemotherapy
- Wound Care/Wound Vac
- Arterial line management
- Surgical drains
- Non-invasive airway management
