Job responsibilities:

The Field Surveyor is part of a Survey Field Crew working primarily outdoors, operating an array of survey instruments and field equipment, collecting topographical and LiDAR data that will be implemented as a foundational basis for designs that improve communities throughout the Puget Sound region. This position will work daily under the supervision of a Survey Party Chief and report directly to the Field Team Leads. All Land Surveying work will be performed under the direction and guidance of a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in the note keeping and collection of field data while conducting various Land Survey activities such as topographic, boundary, right-of-way, ALTA, utility and monitoring surveys
  
• Clearing of plant overgrowth, removing of a small area of surface soil may be required to gain access to non-improved areas and to recover buried survey monuments, by use of hand tools
  
• Daily office tasks, such as survey data upload and download, information copying, field document scanning, and markup review of field notes
  
• Interact and collaborate with office staff regarding project particulars and field specific initiatives
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 0-5 years of land surveying experience
  
• Interest in the land surveying profession with an enthusiasm for learning
  
• Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. of equipment and supplies throughout the workday
  
• Dexterity to successfully negotiate and maneuver along steep slopes and across uneven terrain
  
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
  
• A clean driving record and a valid Washington State Drivers License, or the ability to acquire one prior to employment.
  
• Experience with Land Survey field procedures and processes, as well as a familiarity with the operation and function of total stations, data collectors, laser scanners, GNSS receivers, and digital levels are a plus, but not a necessity.
  
• High school diploma required
