Join a New National Initiative Supporting Veterans
Our organization is looking for a Full-Time Primary or Family Care Physician to become part of the newly formed National Center for Warrior Independence (NCWI) at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. This role presents a unique chance to deliver comprehensive outpatient care to Veterans while actively contributing to the development of an innovative national program aimed at serving this population.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver thorough outpatient primary and acute care.
- Manage chronic illnesses and offer preventive healthcare services.
- Conduct patient history assessments, physical examinations, diagnoses, treatments, consultations, and emergency care.
- Provide same-day care and support for other Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) providers.
- Collaborate effectively with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and community organizations.
- Maintain precise patient records and treatment plans.
- Engage in quality assurance and process enhancement activities.
- Support VA performance metrics, systems redesign, and advanced access initiatives.
- Work alongside supervisory and frontline staff to enhance clinic operations and Veteran care.
In this position, the physician will play a vital role in national, VISN, and local quality and process improvement efforts, including performance metrics, systems redesign, and advanced clinical access projects. The physician will collaborate with supervisory and frontline personnel across various service lines to enhance clinic operations, improve access, ensure continuity of care, and elevate the overall healthcare experience for Veterans.
Why This Role is Unique:This position not only allows for direct Veteran care but also enables participation in the establishment of a new national initiative at West Los Angeles. The blend of clinical practice, interdisciplinary teamwork, and involvement in system-wide quality and access projects makes this role more expansive than conventional outpatient primary care.
Qualifications:- MD or equivalent degree.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Possess a current, full, and unrestricted medical license.
- Salary Range: $265,000 - $310,000.
- Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 holidays).
- Malpractice coverage: Free liability protection with tail coverage included.

- Up to $1,000 or more annually for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and up to 5 days of paid absence for CME activities.
