Technical Manager

The Technical Manager will directly supervise all entry and mid-level staff to ensure their successful support of the U.S. Navy's Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on-base. This position is critical to the success of FWG's partnership with the U.S. Navy. This position will manage all activities and the staff in an assembly function including a variety of product assembly operations on product components, assemblies and sub-assemblies.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the activities and staff in an assembly function including electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies

• Follow methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing and welding/fitting on assembly units

• Make setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications

• Establish and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions

• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications

• Determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup

• Ability to use a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments

• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speed

• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining

• Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine material, parts, and equipment required

• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures

• Develop and maintain professional, results-oriented relationships that strengthen FWG's reputation and support positive outcomes through documented communication, timely response, and issue resolution

• Anticipate customer concerns and engage early to mitigate risk, resolve performance issues, and uphold FWG's record of quality and reliability

• Ensure all personnel maintain required certifications, training, and clearance eligibility

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission focus across the team

• Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

• High School Degree Required

• Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology, Information Technology or related technical field Required

• Relevant Military Technical Training Program (ex. Navy Electronics Technician, Marine Corps Communications Technician, etc.) required

Licenses & Certifications:

• Active Secret Security Clearance


Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in electronics troubleshooting repair and maintenance of complex electronic and IT systems

• 3+ years of experience on naval C4N systems and LCAC platform systems

• Solid understanding of electronics theory, troubleshooting methodologies and network fundamentals required

• Proficiency with using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other advanced electronic test equipment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex electronic and network issues in a timely manner

• Experience with US Navy Groom procedures and Technical Assists a plus

• Ability to work with various levels of personnel including senior leadership

• Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Other:

• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with additional hours, as required

• Some travel, as required by operational needs
