Which certifications are required? BLS and CHEMO. ACLS is preferred

Will travelers float? Yes, travelers will float within their skillset. May float to the main New Brunswick campus, connected by a pedestrian bridge

What is the weekend requirement? Every other weekend, based on unit needs

Are locals accepted? Yes

What is the time off policy? All RTO must be sent with the submittal and approved before the offer

Is block scheduling approved? No

What is the scrub color? Navy blue

What is the charting system? EPIC

Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports*, Administration of chemotherapy, Anaphylaxis, BMT*, Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy, Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy, Infusion Center*, Inpatient oncology*, IV push administration of chemotherapy, Management/disposal cytotoxic spills, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Outpatient oncology*, PCU, Recognize/manage side effects, Sepsis

Interdisciplinary Support: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary

Patient Diagnoses: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Compliance: Labs MUST be completed 48 hours of signing. Valid NJ State License or Compact License required for nursing, at time of submission. Failing competency exams require a 6-month break before clinician can re-submit. Certifications are required at time of submission unless otherwise specified and can be obtained prior to start. References required. Any international work history or permanent residency MUST be disclosed. ED/Behavioral Health/Psychiatric RNs MUST complete de-escalation training within 14 days of their start date. Recruiters: RNs must pay $52 plus tax for the course, this fee should be added to the margin

Each traveler receives 1 certificate per module (3 total), 1 overall course certificate. Modules are non-billable, 4 hours of EPIC training and up to 18 hours of additional hours. RN: average 18 hours of non-billable modules. Allied: average 1 hour of non-billable modules. Modules are completed pre-start, and annually. Modules are recorded by transcripts for onsite specific modules. RWJBH annuals, Baxter pump, and signed attestations are self-reported, and EPIC training is facility reported.

Cancellations/Attendance Policies: Should a traveler need to cancel their contract for any reason, RWJBH asks for adequate notice, defined as: MSP contracted travelers: 14-day notice CRISIS / RAPID contracted travelers: 10-day notice Clinicians are required to make up any missed shifts within the same pay period.
