Manufacturing Systems Integration Contract Engineer

Company is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Manufacturing Systems Integration Contract Engineer to support the development, integration, and optimization of manufacturing systems across production environments. In this role, you’ll work closely with manufacturing, automation, and software teams to develop and maintain SCADA-based solutions supporting plant floor operations. You’ll help integrate manufacturing systems, improve operational workflows, and provide hands-on support for production systems across multiple Bay Area facilities. The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, customer-focused, and experienced working within fast-paced manufacturing environments.

As a Manufacturing Systems Integration Contract Engineer, you'll:

• Develop and maintain SCADA solutions using the Inductive Automation Ignition platform, including both Vision and Perspective modules.
• Provide hands-on manufacturing plant floor support for operational systems, troubleshooting, and integration activities.
• Support integration between Ignition systems, PLCs, and Kepware OPC UA servers.
• Assist with integrations between Ignition and SAP ME/MII manufacturing systems.
• Develop and support web service integrations and manufacturing system connectivity workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, automation, and software teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Support onsite manufacturing and integration activities across Bay Area facilities, with occasional domestic travel as needed.

Responsibilities include working with manufacturing engineers to develop and implement Ignition-based systems to support manufacturing line requirements. Work with process and manufacturing engineers to develop and implement software programs for automation systems and equipment that are used in the production. Develop software for engineering tools to support production activities. Provide on-site support for manufacturing production lines to resolve any manufacturing systems related issues.

Location: Fremont, CA (with occasional travel to Hayward, CA required). This role is fully onsite (5 days/week).

Required skills include strong Ignition VIsion and Perspective module programming experience, strong manufacturing plant floor in-person support experience, basic knowledge on the integration of Ignition with PLC using Kepware through OPC UA servers, understanding and experience with integration between Ignition system and SAP ME/Mii systems, and experience in integrating web service calls. Onsite, in-person work in company’s facilities in San Francisco Bay Areas, specifically Fremont and Hayward.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a relevant area in Computer Science and/or Engineering, minimum of 5 years relevant experience in SCADA system usage in a manufacturing environment (requirements analysis, design definition, software development, and solutions implementation); 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementing SCADA systems with in-depth experience with the Inductive Automation Ignition software platform and strong programming skills using both Vision and Perspective modules, strong software programming skills using high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, etc.
