Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Lewiston, ME

Take on a vital role in medical-surgical care as a Registered Nurse, providing expert support for patients in a dynamic post-surgical setting. Schedule/Hours:

• Contract assignment, 13 weeks
• Up to 16 hours of initial orientation (unpaid)
• Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per contract

Key Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered RN license; candidates with licensure actions or background hits will not be considered
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius and not be a previous employee of this facility
• BLS certification required
• Proficiency with post-surgical and medical-surgical patient care, including administering IV medications and therapies
• Competency in the application and monitoring of restraints and seclusion, as validated by your agency
• At least one year of previous nursing experience preferred
• Willingness and ability to function in a Charge RN role as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the full nursing process for post-surgical patients
• Assess and monitor patients from admission through discharge, updating care plans in partnership with patients and their caregivers
• Administer IV medications, blood products, and related therapies per clinical protocols
• Demonstrate strong leadership as Charge RN, providing guidance for the unit when necessary
• Maintain high standards for safety, documentation, and patient advocacy
