Insurance Coverage Attorney

Career Consulting Partners is currently partnering with a preeminent, highly decorated law firm with offices in Woodland Hills. We specialize in civil litigation defense, with core strengths in insurance defense, personal injury, construction defect, and employment litigation.

We are seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney to join our Woodland Hills office. In this position, you will advise clients on a broad spectrum of commercial and personal lines coverage matters and represent clients in coverage litigation as needed. You will have the opportunity to tackle sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional issues arising from a diverse range of underlying claims.

Ideal Candidate:

• Analyze complex commercial and personal lines policies, including CGL, Commercial/Personal Umbrella and Excess, Commercial/Personal Auto, and Homeowners to evaluate coverage issues.

• Draft clear, comprehensive coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, denial notices, and position statements.

• Research intricate legal issues and interpret policy language alongside applicable statutes across multiple jurisdictions.

• Represent insurers and other clients in insurance coverage litigation.

• Manage matters through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediation, trial, and appeal, as applicable.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California

• Proven background in insurance coverage (analysis, policy interpretation, coverage opinions) and/or coverage litigation.

• Strong legal research, writing, multi-jurisdictional analysis, and deadline management.

• Ability to maintain a minimum of 1,800 annual billable hours.

• Experience with first/third-party coverage, bad faith, trial work, or professional liability (a plus, not required).

• Federal (U.S. District Courts) or additional state bar admissions (a plus, not required).

• Portable book of business (a plus, not required).

Compensation & Benefits:

• Compensation Range: $140,000 - $200,000
