Board Certified Adolescent Medicine Physician

We are recruiting an energetic, clinically-oriented Board Certified Adolescent Medicine Physician to join our team at the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC) as Associate Medical Director.

Since its establishment in 1968, the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center has grown to become a model of excellence in adolescent health care nationally and worldwide. We provide care to over 8000 youth ages 10-26 years annually through its innovative integrated model. We provide medical, mental health, nutritional, legal, and optical care for all who come to the Center and our six School Based health facilities, at no cost to them. The MSAHC advances adolescent health as a national imperative by serving as a leading center of clinical care, specialized training, innovative research and advocacy.

Responsibilities include outpatient primary and subspecialty adolescent clinical care, inpatient consultative care, HIV treatment and prevention outpatient care, administrative leadership of the HIV treatment and prevention program, and administrative leadership of our outpatient medical program in partnership with the Medical Director. The Associate Medical Director will also engage in medical education of residents and Adolescent Medicine fellows.

The Physician will work collaboratively with the MSAHC Medical and Mental Health Directors to ensure that the delivery of primary and subspecialty adolescent and young adult care to young people is developed and managed in accordance with MSAHC's mission, strategic direction and business position, Mount Sinai's policies and procedures, New York State regulations and guidelines, funder guidelines, and established best practices in adolescent medicine. In addition, the Physician will be responsible for fulfilling such duties as assessments, planning, teaching and counseling as appropriate.

• Knowledge and expertise in HIV treatment and prevention is ideal
• A passion for working with young people and a work ethic in which a commitment to understanding and solving the needs of each patient;
• Prior clinical program leadership experience (e.g. Medical Director, Assistant or Associate or Medicine Director)
• Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and familiarity with quality improvement methodology
• Experience leading grant-funded programs
• Exceptional team management skills. Strong commitment to mentoring, recruiting and retaining a multidisciplinary dynamic team in a multi-cultural environment;
• A commitment to, and experience in building systems of care for vulnerable populations, particularly adolescents and young adults;
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, empathy, compassion and patience;
• A multi-tasker with the ability to respond to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, verbal and writing skills.

Qualifications include:

• MD Degree with Board Eligible/Certification in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
• Adolescent Medicine board certification
• New York Medical License

Compensation range from 190K to 275K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
