About the Role

The Company is in search of a Managing Director for Platform Engineering, a pivotal role that demands a blend of executive leadership and deep technical expertise. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading and scaling the platform engineering and SRE organizations, defining long-term cloud infrastructure and platform strategy, and driving modernization initiatives across Kubernetes and cloud-native systems. This position is at the forefront of the company's growth, with a focus on building product-oriented internal developer platforms, improving observability, reliability, automation, and deployment workflows, and establishing scalable operational standards and engineering best practices. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or SRE, with a strong hands-on background in Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystems. The role requires a leader who can also be highly hands-on, with a proven track record in managing large-scale engineering organizations and a deep understanding of modern software engineering practices. Experience in high-growth environments, particularly in building platform engineering organizations, and a strong foundation in distributed systems, containers, and infrastructure automation are essential. The ideal candidate will also have experience with AI developer tooling, infrastructure-as-code tools, and the ability to communicate technical strategy effectively across both engineering and executive stakeholders.
